What happens to people who never heard about Jesus?
By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye
ScriptureGenesis 18:25
This question reveals a tender heart, and Scripture handles it with both honesty and hope. The Bible teaches that God is perfectly just and perfectly good — He will do right by every person, and no one will be able to accuse Him of unfairness. Romans says that creation and conscience leave everyone with some knowledge of God, so no one is utterly without witness. Sincere Christians hold this with humility. We are not given a detailed map of how God deals with every individual who never heard the gospel. What we are clearly told is that salvation is found in Christ, that God is just, and that He desires that none should perish. Rather than letting this become a reason to doubt, let it become a reason to act. The surest response to “What about those who haven't heard?” is to make sure they hear. Scripture: — “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” Take this step: Trust God's justice with what you cannot see, and act on what you can: pray for and support those bringing the gospel where it has not been heard — or share it yourself with someone near you.
Prayer
Father, thank You for meeting me in my questions. Give me wisdom to understand Your truth, faith to trust You where I cannot yet see, and grace to walk it out today. Anchor my heart in Genesis 18:25. In Jesus' name, amen.
